Abstract

828,513. Framework for motor vehicle roof head-lining. TRAUCOTT GOLDE & CO. G.m.b.H., H. March 10, 1958 [March 9, 1957], No. 7705/58. Class 20(4) A supporting framework for a motor vehicle roof head-lining includes two opposite side members 1, 2 coupled by flexible cross-members 3...5 which are braced by detachable rigid members such as 12, 13. The framework is bowed and positioned between channels 9, 11 of fixed parallel supporting guides 6, 7 and released to allow the side members 1, 2 to engage in the channels 9, 11, the rigid members 12, 13 being then fixed on the cross-members. The head-lining (not shown) of fabric, synthetic plastic &c. is fastened to the framework before mounting. The guides 6, 7 are of E-shaped cross-section having upper channels 8, 10 which may support a sliding roof. As shown, member 3 is in position and the members 4, 5 bowed prior to release. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown) one cross-member is braced by a roof frame member to which it is connected by L- shaped clamps and screws or bolts.
