Abstract

856,560. Vehicle roofs. GOLDE & CO. G.m.b.H., H. T. Nov. 14, 1957 [May 14, 1957], No. 35551/57. Class 108(1). A vehicle 1 having a roof aperture is provided with a rigid or flexible cover 2 actuated by a pair of worm cables 10 connected to the forward end of the cover at 13, 14, the cables being moved by a worm wheel 5 driven by an electric motor 3 which may be housed under the roof or in the boot. When a flexible cover is used intermediate hoop sticks 6, 7 may be provided. When a rigid cover is used the ends of the cables may be pivotally connected to plates pivoted under the cover so that by movement of the plates from the horizontal position to the vertical position the rear end of the cover is raised to be flush with the fixed part of the roof.
