Abstract

1470415 Connecting air-cushion skirts TEXTRON Inc 10 Oct 1974 [1 Nov 1973] 43861/74 Heading B7K [Also in Division E2] A device for securing an air-cushion confining elastic sheet 50 to rigid structure 32 of a surfaceeffect vehicle, comprises a cradle member 20 having a trough 38 to receive a fold of the sheet, a clamp bar 40 to retain the fold in the trough and to pinch the sheet between itself and opposed ridges 34, 36 on the cradle member, and tie members 42 to maintain the bar 40 in its clamping position, the tie members being pivotally mounted on the cradle. The double-trough device shown in Fig. 4 is used to attach a central portion of the sheet to the underside of an aircraft having an air-cushion undercarriage, and the outer edges of the sheet are attached to the underside of the aircraft or to door panels (22), Fig. 3 (not shown), therein by means of singletrough devices, Fig. 7 (not shown).
