Class 64(2) Also in Group XXIX] A gas-fired water heater of the instantaneous kind having a sinuous water passage 43 provided with fins 44 arranged above a burner, has a thermostat with a pilot bulb 47 filled with vapour or vaporizable liquid in contact with the passage 43 and a bellows 22 which operates a valve 23 controlling the flow of gas to the burner. As shown, the bulb 47 is rigid but it may itself be constituted by a bellows, or it may be semi-rigid and so shaped as to provide an effective contact area between it and the bend of the sinuous water passage.
