Abstract

826,051. Rotary pumps. SEYLER, L. A. Feb. 1, 1957 [Feb. 10, 1956], No. 3609/57. Class 110 (2). In a rotary pump of the flexible tube type the tube, Fig. 1, is provided with end flanges 2 and a longitudinally-extending serrated reinforcing ridge 4. Two such tubes may be mounted about a common casing, one tube constituting an auxiliary air pump for increasing or decreasing the pressure within the casing of the main pump and having a valve-controlled inlet port (see Fig. 3, not shown). In a modification, the tube is provided with a flange at one end whilst the other end is smooth or circumferentially grooved (see Fig. 4, not shown). The pump casing, Fig. 6, may constitute an aluminium casting 19 having recesses 21, 22 for the tube flanges and a toroidal chamber 20 having enlarged recesses 24, 25.
