A prefabricated stress relief cone for terminating high voltage cables with solid insulation comprises a stress cone of conductive material embedded in a moulded mass of epoxy resin except for a portion extending from one end to permit connection to the cable sheath or screen, the epoxy resin mass having a cylindrical axial hole to enable it to be slipped over the cable end insulation. The resin mass may incorporate fillers such as slate, quartz, flint and clays and the outer surface of the moulded mass may be corrugated to increase the leakage path.
