Abstract

824,937. Automatic gramophones. GRUNDIG, M. Feb. 10, 1956 [April 5, 1955], No. 4231/56. Class 40 (2). In an automatic record-changer wherein the records are stacked above the turntable on a support D, the turntable is moved upwards to actuate release mechanism E, whereby a record S is deposited on the turntable, and is moved downwards after the record has been played whereby the record S is removed from the turntable by guide means T and moved sideways along the guide means by spring-loaded ejector means O into a magazine B. The turntable is connected by a bolt H to a motor-driven rotating member V and is carried by a spindle G which is raised or lowered by a lever L actuated by a cam M connected to the tone arm U, Fig. 2. When the turntable is raised to release a record from the stack the centre boss R forms a continuation of the support D to ensure easy transfer of the record. The turntable then drops to its playing position and at the end of the record a disconnecting portion of the groove thereon moves the tone arm to cause lever L to lower the turntable below the guide means T. Simultaneously a recess in the edge of the cam M releases the spring-loaded ejector arm O which strikes the record and impels it along the guides T to the trough B.
