661,865. Magazine gramophones. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Dec. 24, 1947. [July 31, 1946] No. 34128. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec..29, 1947.] Class 40 (ii). In an automatic record-changing device for gramophones, the pick-up arm 1, before each record is played, is moved into position by a control member, comprising a disc 4 and a cam 7, driven by the driving mechanism for the gramophone. A control arm 3, 3a which is immovably secured to the pick-up arm is provided with two rollers 5, 6, of which the roller 5 is arranged so as to be actuated by the cam 7 for moving the pick-up outwards away from a record after playing whereas the roller 6 is arranged so as to be actuated by the cam 7 for swinging the pick-up arm inward on to a record to be played, and is resiliently coupled by a spring 9 to the control arm so that the inward swing of the pick-up may be interrupted independently of the position of the cam 7. A three-armed lever for selecting different sized records comprises a feeler 11, which is actuated during record changing by a large diameter record, a second arm 12 which is thereby moved into a position in which movement of the control arm is stopped, and a third arm 14 which co-operates with a guide 13 in the disc 4 for resetting the three-armed lever. A stopping device 15 which may be automatically actuated prevents movement of the control arm when in an operative position. Specification 661,862 is referred to.
