In a record-changing gramophone in which records 1, 2 &c. are supported over a turntable 3 and on a guide pin 4 by supports retractible into the pin through slots 13 ... 15, the supports are in the form of arms 5 ... 7 pivotally mounted at a distance from the centre of the pin and at the periphery of a sleeve 8 axially movable within. the pin, so that each arm moves'in a plane tangential with the periphery of the sleeve which is not coincident with the plane of movement of any of the other arms. As shown, the sleeve 8 has a pin 10 engaging a slot 11 in the pin 4, and each arm is pivoted at 9 to the sleeve. The arms swing out by gravity when the sleeve 8 is raised, assisted, if required, by springs. Cam surfaces 12 on the arms engage the rims of the slots 13 ... 15. During the first part of the movement of the arms they may remain at the same height or be raised or lowered. The records above the lowest in the pile are held during the feed down by a cap 17 which is pulled down by a wire 18 and the end of which is expanded by a widened part of the pin 4 so as to grip the inside of the hole in the second lowest record. The upper edge of each slot 13 ... 15 may be modified as in Fig. 4 (not shown) so that when discs are lifted off the turntable the pin 4 is raised and in falling after removal of the discs forces the arms outwardly. The pin 4 may be retained in the raised position, the arms being held retracted so that a single disc can be placed on the turntable. When the arms are unloaded the weight of the sleeve 8, a rod 19 for pulling the sleeve down, and connected parts is utilized to stop the motor when the last record has been played.
