Abstract
824,158. Lamp-holders. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Feb. 27, 1958 [March 5, 1957], No. 6442/58. Class 38 (1). A lamp-holder body consists of an inner member 12, recessed at 26, 28 for the reception of socket contacts 14, 16, and a resilient, bifurcated hollow shell 18 which fits over the member 12 and is retained thereon by interfitting grooves 42 and ribs 40. A mounting bracket 20 is gripped between the member 12 and shell 18 and the wires connected to the contacts enter through the bifurcating slots 48 in the shell and are trapped at the bottoms of said slots by ribs on the end walls of member 12 which travel in the slots. The contacts are inserted from the top of the member 12 and the wires attached to the solder lugs 35 projecting from the lower face of said member. Alternatively, Fig. 15, the contacts 14a with the wires attached thereto may be inserted from the lower face of member 12, in this case being provided with portions which snap over shoulders 54a in the recesses 26a.
