Abstract

823,752. Valves. SAVARY, A. May 29, 1957, No. 17072/57. Class 135. A one-piece moulding forming a valve casing is provided with a fluid inlet A and at least one fluid outlet B and a pleated flexible or semiflexible diaphragm F, to a displaceable end wall of which is fixed a stem E which is disposed within the diaphragm so that deformation of the diaphragm F from outside the valve casing displaces the valve member. Fig. 1 shows a valve wherein the diaphragm F may be deformed by depressing a push-button L that is slidably located in the screwed operating handle H or alternatively by screwing-down the handle H. In another embodiment the diaphragm is depressed by means of a cam. In a further embodiment, Fig. 4, the stem E is formed with cam surfaces S so that deformation of the diaphragm causes valve members A and R to be moved to an open position against the action of springs U. In a final embodiment the stem carries a piston movable in a ported cylinder. If the diaphragm lacks natural resilience it may be biased by a surrounding coil spring.
