Abstract
823,083. Electron beam deflecting apparatus. COLE Ltd., E. K., and LEVI, J. E. July 18, 1957 [July 18, 1956], No. 22196/56. Class 39(1). The scanning coil assembly A. B, C of a cathode-ray tube is pressed against the flared neck E of the tube by a two-part annular wedge G, tapering at each end, which is located by a clamp H and serves also as a mount for beam centring annular magnets Kl, K2. The clamp has a number of integral tabs J mating with the tapered end of the wedge. The two parts L1, L2 of the wedge are provided with interengaging arcuate tongues M1, M2 which together provide the bearing surface for the magnets K1, K2. The magnets, K1, K2 are magnetised across their diameters and are spaced apart by a slightly bent brass washer N. The wedge parts may be made of polystyrene.
