822,888. Fire extinguishers. JONES & CO. (ENGINEERING) Ltd., S., and PHILLIPS, C. H. May 9, 1958, No. 15015/58. Class 47 A dry powder type portable fire extinguisher comprises a container 2 having a neck ring 1 and a closure cap 10 which carries an operating plunger 11 formed with is piercing pin 13, and provides a support, which as described is an internal flange 3 in the neck ring 1, for a separate holder 4 for a compressed gas cartridge 5, the cap 10 and holder 4 being formed with co-axial bosses 16, 8 respectively which cooperate to define a chamber from which gas is directed to an outlet tube 7 led to the bottom of the container. A sealing ring 9 is positioned between the bosses 16, 8, and a sealing ring 15 is positioned between the plunger 11 and the boss 16. The cap 10 contains a safety blow-off valve 12.
