Class 100(2) A manual duplicator comprises a body, a clamp means on said body, a stencil frame having resilient tongue means extending from a side thereof and engaged in said clamp means, and elevating means associated with said tongue means and said clamp means acting to resiliently hold the stencil frame elevated above the level of the bottom of said body. A base plate 10, Fig. 1, carries a rib 12, against which sheets W to be stencilled are aligned, and a clamp 14 holding a resilient tongue 16 carrying at one end a stencil frame 20, the tongue being bowed to hold the frame spaced from the sheets except when pressed thereon by a squeegee. A scale 18 indicates the lateral position of the screen. In another form, Fig. 3, two tongues 36, 38 are held in respective clamps 28, 30, while a further tongue 42 is engaged in a slot in a block 31, to hold the stencil frame 34 evenly spaced from the sheets W, until it is deformed into progressive linear contact therewith by a squeegee. In another form, Fig. 6, the tongue 64 is held between a leaf spring 62 and a plate 55 of a clamp comprising plates 55, 57 and adjustable vertically in a body 50 by a screw 56, the body resting on the sheet support. In another form, Fig. 9, the tongue 78 is held in a slot 72 in a body 70 by a leaf spring 76, the body having a handle 82 by which the assembly can be carried about to place the stencil over work to be stencilled, with the body resting on the work supports.
