Abstract

A lower support plate (15) has high friction rubber mounting blocks (11) underneath in which are moulded magnets (10), and has studs (91, 92) mounted on its upper surface. An upper hollow support plate (20) is placed over the first three feet (21, 22, 23) giving stable positioning on the table and two holes receiving the studs. Conical nuts (45, 46) centre the two plates. Tightening the nuts till the feet contact the table gives a precise location, but further tightening lifts the lower plate from the table, decreasing the magnetic forces, to allow relocation. Components mounted on the secondary support plate can thus be fitted to and removed from the table repeatedly with precise location.
