939,312. Mounting printing plates. G. W. GIFFORD. Aug. 2, 1960 [Aug. 17, 1959], No. 28000/59. Class 100 (2). The mounting of an adhesive-backed flexible printing plate on a cylindrical roll or flat platen is aided by a sheet of transparent material 10 on which is ruled a grid 11 and in which is formed apertures 14 and holes 13. In use, the sheet, which is stiffened along one edge by a strip 12, is placed on the top of the printing plate in the required position as determined by reference to the grid 11, strips of adhesive tape being then applied to that surface of the sheet not in contact with the plate so that the tape extends across at least some of the apertures 14 where it is caused to adhere to the exposed surface of the plate. The sheet may be used with the apparatus of Specification 939,311.
