Abstract

A clamping device for sheets, has a vertical base plate (5), a shaped holding section (6) arranged at the upper end of the base plate (5) and clamping element by means of which the sheet (4) can be pressed against the base plate (5), wherein the shaped holding section (6) is substantially U-shaped and the upper peripheral edge of the base plate (5) can be pushed into its open side, and wherein, in addition, the sheet (4) is pushed in between the first arm (7) of the shaped holding section (6) the base plate (5) and the clamping element bears on the side of the base plate (5) furthest from the sheet (4), and which allows base plates of different thicknesses to be clamped in without altering the clamping device, and wherein the clamping element is formed by the arm (8) of the shaped holding section (6) which is situated on the opposite side of the base plate (5) to the sheet (4), and this arm (8) on the shaped holding section (6) is pivotably fastened on an axis (9) which runs parallel to the upper peripheral edge.
