Abstract

821,232. Spray-producers. WALD INDUSTRIES Inc. Jan. 16, 1956, No. 1476/56. Class 69 (3). [Also in Group XV] A spray-gun for marking lines on roads discharges a fan-shaped spray 26 from a nozzle 22 surrounded by a cylindrical shroud 42, and the bottom of the shroud is cut away to form concave sides 48, 50 which limit the width of the spray. Slots 52 are arranged around the top of the shroud and during the spraying operation air is drawn through them and prevents the deposition of spray on to the inner walls of the shroud. The slotted edge of the shroud is clamped to the gun by a ring 56. The gun is of the air atomizing type and is controlled by an air-operated needle valve within an air chamber 12.
