Abstract

823,699. Spray-producers. WALD INDUSTRIES Inc. Jan. 16, 1956, No. 1477/56. Class 69 (3). [Also in Group XV] A machine for marking lines on roads includes a spray gun 10 to which is attached a shroud 40, with opposed cut-away portions 42, and lips 46, 48 which confines and protects the fan-shaped spray emitted from a nozzle 22. Circumferentially-spaced air passageways 34 are provided between a nut 30 and the shroud which is press-fitted thereto whereby, during spraying, atmospheric air is drawn into the shroud and prevents the deposition of spray on to its inner walls. In a modification the air passageways are arranged in the body of a nut screwed to the gun, and the shroud is clamped to the nut by a further nut. The gun is of the air-operated type and is controlled by an airoperated needle valve within an air chamber 12. Specification 821,232 is referred to.
