Abstract

819,461. Clocks. HOF, E., and SASSELLA, C. E. A. Dec. 21, 1955 (Sept. 7, 1955], No. 36710/55. Class 139 A self winding clock is mounted on a vehicle steering wheel. The oscillatory weight 3, Fig. 1, is connected by a screw 6, Fig. 2, to a pin 5 which is mounted by a ball bearing 8 on a plate 2 of the clock frame. An eccentric pin 9 extends from the pin 5 and is connected to a rocker 10, Fig. 4, which by means of a slot 19 embraces a shaft 21 on which is mounted a ratchet wheel 18. The rocker 10 carries two pairs of pawls 11, 12 and 13, 14 spring pressed into engagement with the ratchet 18 so that as the rocker is moved upon rotation of the weight 3 at least one of the pawls 11-14 steps-on the ratchet 18 which is connected to the barrel arbor 25, Fig. 2, through gears 23, 24. To prevent overwinding of the mainspring a friction clutch may be inserted between the ratchet 18 and the gear 23. Specification 819,462 is referred to.
