A marine drilling rig comprising a derrick C on a substructure D is movable without dismantling from one marine foundation 6 to another by a barge 1 having jacks 5 to lift the near part of the substructure and a hawser 3 which can be tightened by winches on the barge to lift the rig clear of the foundation, whence it is carried outboard of the barge to a new foundation. A gin pole 21 is in the form of a trapezium pivoted to the substructure along its base.
