Abstract

818,043. Endless conveyers; rail constructions. BOTTOMS CONNOLLY & CO. Ltd. Sept. 20, 1957 [June 27, 1956], No. 19926/56. Classes 78 (1) and 104 (2). Tracks c, c<SP>1</SP> for the flanged supporting rollers d of apron and like endless conveyers are provided with renewable wearing strips e which are so arranged that they can be turned over and/or interchanged to provide an alternative guide edge and/or wearing surface. The strips are secured to the tracks by countersunk - headed bolts f, the bolt holes being disposed at uniform intervals along the strip and arranged such that the strip can be reversed end for end to provide a new guide edge for contact with the roller flanges d<SP>1</SP> when the original guide edge contacting the roller flanges is worn. To renew the wearing surfaces of the strips the strips are turned over and each changed to the opposite track. The ends g of the strips are inclined to minimize noise when the rollers pass from one strip to the next.
