Abstract
817,287. Supplying air to burners. RADIATION Ltd. March 25, 1957 [March 27, 1956], No. 9483/56. Class 75(1) Oil burning means of the kind in which combustion air is supplied by a thermostatically controlled electric fan comprises an air chest a which contains a burner b and is supplied alternatively with air by the fan or by the induction effect of the burner, the induced air being controlled automatically by a flap f which is held closed by pressure of the air supplied by the fan. The flap f is mounted in an aperture e through which the induced air enters the chest and has a counterweight g which moves the flap to its closed position. The flap is opened by the induced air. Alternatively the flap may be opened by the counterweight. The air from the fan enters the chest through an aperaure located in the end wall beside the induced air aperture e. The burner is surrounded by a perforated screen c. A baffle h mounted in the chest is of greater depth opposite the aperture for the air from the fan than opposite the induced air aperture.
