Abstract

816,201. Making refrigerators. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. March 25, 1958 [April 10, 1957], No. 9539/58. Class 83 (2). [Also in Group XIII] In a roll-bonded integral evaporator-condenser plate having a connector passage between the condenser 21 and the evaporator 23, a capillary tube is inserted in the connector passage and a seal is provided between the outer surface of the tube and the inner surface of the passage. In manufacture the plate is formed with a connector passage having a broad part 31 and a narrow part 30, the former having an extension 29 which is made with an open end either. by having it extend to the edge of the plate or, as shown, by cutting out a part 36 of the plate. A. capillary tube 37, 38 with rubber like seals 41, 42 and a drier 45 are then pushed into passage 30, 31 through extension 29 which is then closed by welding.
