455,469. Airtight doors; draughtexcluders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Jan. 30, 1936, No. 2847. Convention date, Jan. 30, 1935. [Class 20 (iii)] A resilient sealing gasket for doors of refrigerators and the like, consists of a bead 15 at one edge, a flange of increasing thickness 17 extending therefrom making an angle of less than 180‹ with the base of the bead, and an anchoring bead 19 at the other edge adapted to be secured between the door flange 23 and a heat-insulating strip 12 on the edge of the door. The bead 19 is pressed into the recess 25 by a tool 26 having a flat blade 27, and is maintained in contact with the door flange by its shape. The strip is continuous around the door and is cut away to the middle of the bead to allow bending at the corners. The door comprises inner and outer metal plates bent inwardly at the edges, the heat-insulating strip 12 of rubber or of synthetic resin being secured to the edges of the plates.
