Abstract

Transparent rubber articles are manufactured by covering mould elements with a natural rubber latex mixture containing vulcanizing ingredients and 0.2 to 5 per cent, by weight of the rubber content of the latex, of a nitrosamine, and vulcanizing the latex by heating. In an example, the latex mixture contains sulphur, zinc oxide, zinc diethyl dithiocarbamate, sodium phenyl ethyl dithiocarbamate, potassium hydroxide solution, and diphenyl nitrosamine. A mould element is dipped in the mixture, dried in air, and heated for about 30 to 40 minutes at 90 DEG C.
