Abstract
Butadiene - acrylonitrile synthetic rubber which has been mechanically worked, e.g. by milling, for 5 to 50 minutes while heated to a temperature between 250 DEG and 375 DEG F. in the presence of oxygen, is formed into a fibre-drafting element, e.g. a roll cover, and vulcanized, e.g. with sulphur, benzothiazyl disulphide and diphenylguanidine. The compositions may include plasticizers, e.g. triacetin, pigments, e.g. titanium dioxide, graphite and zinc oxide, and the electrolytes and animal glue described in Specifications 621,556, [Group V], 637,574, 637,575, 637,576, and 637,577. The electrolytes are preferably incorporated in the compositions at a temperature of about 240 DEG F.
