Abstract

Butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymers are plasticised by an alkyl ester of a beta-alkoxypropionic acid. Those specified are isobutyl beta-isobutoxypropionate and isoamyl betaisoamyloxypropionate. Curing may be effected by mixing with zinc oxide, sulphur, carbon black, tetramethyl thiuram disulphide or benzothiazyl 2-diethyl sulphenamide and stearic acid and heating.ALSO:Butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymers are plasticized by an alkyl ester of a beta alkoxy propionic acid. Those specified are isobutyl beta isobutoxy propionate and isoamyl beta isoamyloxy propionate. Curing may be effected by mixing with zinc oxide, sulphur, carbon black, tetramethyl thiuram disulphide or benzothiazyl 2 diethyl sulphonamide, or stearic acid and heating.
