Abstract

Articles of apparel such as gloves, girdles, caps, boots and shoes are made by adding an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol to rubber latex, operating by the dipping method, and then drying and vulcanizing. In examples, the composition consists of varying amounts of a 7.6 per cent solution of polyvinyl alcohol with 40 per cent latex containing accelerators.ALSO:Articles of apparel such as gloves, girdles, caps, boots and shoes are made by adding an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol to rubber latex, operating by the dipping method, and then drying and vulcanizing.
