815,945. Jib cranes. ORENSTEIN-KOPPEL UND LUBECKER MASCHINENBAU A.G. April 5, 1957 [April 28, 1956], No. 11243/57. Class 78 (4). The winch plate 1 of a mobile crane can be tilted forwardly, together with the trestle 2 from which the jib is supported, to the position shown in Fig. 1 in which the raised end of the winch plate serves to support means for removing the motor unit of the crane. To effect the tilting the jib 4 is lowered to engage the ground and a line 13 is secured at 15 to the ground and passed over a jib end pulley to be secured at 14 to the trestle 2. The end 7 of the winch plate is then disconnected from the chassis and the crane is driven forwardly so that the rope 13 tilts the trestle 2 and winch plate 1 about a hinge 8 until it comes into engagement with a stop 12 previously secured to the jib. A laterally extending track beam is then secured to the end 4 of the winch plate to carry a carriage provided with tackle for removing the motor unit 9. The motor unit may provide for all the motions, including travelling, of the crane.
