Abstract

814,621. Photo-electric devices. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. May 14, 1957 [May 14, 1956], No. 14963/56. Class 37. [Also in Groups XL (a) and XL (c)] In a device for use in a two-stable state circuit (see Group XL (c)) an electro-luminescent layer 6, a conducting layer 7 and a photo-conductive layer 8 are sandwiched between glass plates 3, 9 with transparent film connections 4, 5, 10 and 11 to the layers 6, 8. The layer 6 is of silveractivated zinc sulphide whilst the photo-conductive layer is activated cadmium sulphide. The electrode 7 is a wire mesh grid or may be a transparent insulating material coated on both surfaces with a transparent conducting film with the two films connected together. A connection for the supply may be made over a capacitor formed by layer 13.
