Abstract

Polyolefine textile materials are dyed with a solution of an oil-soluble dyestuff in a paraffin or naphthene hydrocarbon oil or in an aqueous emulsion of the said solution. Specified emulsifiers for use with the aqueous emulsion are fatty acid-polyethylene glycol condensates, fatty alcohol-ethylene oxide reaction products and alkylphenol-ethylene oxide addition products. Prior to washing with soap, the dyed material is preferably washed with cold carbon tetrachloride. Examples are given.
