Abstract

<PICT:0652293/IV (c)/1> <PICT:0652293/IV (c)/2> An arrangement for treating textile fibres, particularly rayon fibres, in cake form comprises a tubular perforated transversely-yielding sleeve 1 having overlapping edges 2, and provided with a lower projecting flange 6 to support the cake 5. The sleeves are adapted as by the provision of inner stops 7, 8, 9 to be placed one above another to form a column. The lower flange 6 is preferably conical and the sleeve body may or may not be conical to conform to the shape of the inner wall of the cakes. The pressure on each cake is substantially constant irrespective of its position in the column.
