A travelling portal for a crane, with support at four points, is characterized in that it is supported on one side by a leg 2 of which the lower part branches to accommodate two wheels 7, 8, and on the other side by two legs 3, 4 each carrying one wheel. A cross-piece 12 carries a bearing (not shown) for the crane pillar. The leg 2 may be of inverted T shape, as shown, or of inverted Y shape. The legs may be connected at the top to the ends of a horizontal member equal in length to the distance between the rails 6, 9. The rail 9 may be at a higher level than the rail 6.
