At least one of the legs of a crane gantry has either the inverted T configuration, shown in Fig. 1, or the inverted Y configuration of Fig. 2. The remaining leg may be similarly shaped, or may comprise a simple column to provide a triangular base for the gantry; in the latter arrangement the driving wheels are preferably carried on the branched column. The gantry may be of lattice or plate construction.
