813,209. Window stays. RASMUSSEN, V. B. K., [trading as RASMUSSEN & CO. V. K.]. Nov. 30, 1956 [Dec. 2, 1955], No. 36744/56. Class 65(1) A window stay comprises a tube having a projecting ridge-like portion in which are formed transverse notches adapted to engage a locking member provided in the window sill. The tubular stay 1 is flattened at one end and pivoted to a link 3 which is in turn pivoted to a base 5 secured to the window frame 6. A ridge-shaped portion 13, which projects from the underside of the stay, has transverse notches 12 milled in it. The notches 12 engage the edge portion 11 of a locking member 8 to hold the window open. Conical pins 9 are provided to cause the stay to act as a lever when closing the window. A handknob 15 is provided with a hole 16 which engages a locking pin in the window sill in the closed position. The ridge 13 is formed by pressing two grooves in the lower wall of the tube. The width and depth of these grooves may be varied to give the stay a tapered form.
