812,789. Bolted-joints. LURSSEN, G. March 4, 1957, No. 7121/57. Class 83 (4). [Also in Groups XXIV, XXV and XXVI] An adjustable intermediate-support-device for use in the installation of machinery, e.g. marine engines, comprises relatively turnable members 12, 13, Fig. 1, with mutually engaging surfaces 15, 16 formed by one or more inclined planes extending arcuately, one of the members, e.g. 12, having a part-spherical bearing surface 17. The device is positioned between the machine mounting flange 10 and the foundation support 11 and the members are relatively turned until a desired adjustment is effected, then they are locked together by a pin 28 and the mounting bolt 27 is tightened. Where the foundation is a concrete mass 44, Fig. 8, the member 13 is provided with claws 43 grouted in the mass together with the clamping bolt. In another arrangement, the periphery of member 12, Fig. 4, has teeth 35 engaged by teeth 34 on a lever 31 which is pivoted to turn member 12 relatively to member 13. The members are locked together after adjustment by replacing the lever by a dog-engaging pivot flange 32 and a number of teeth 35. In yet another arrangement, a screw threadedly engaging a lug on one member abuts with its free end against a lug on the other member, and screwing the bolt causes relative turning of the members.
