Abstract

892,296. Locking levers. GRINNELL CORPORATION. Aug. 20, 1959 [Sept. 3, 1958], No. 28466/59. Class 80 (3). [Also in Groups XXII, XXV and XXXII] Spring units 101, Fig. 3, for supporting pipes &c. are provided with means for temporarily locking the lever system 107a in any required position. In one example the locking means for a pivot 107 having its ends moving in the region of arcuate slots 105 of frame plates 103 comprises a slotted arcuate plate 113 bolted at 115 to the frame and having a serrated inner face 117, Fig. 6, engageable with a serrated face 112 of a bolt 108 inserted over the end of the pivot 107. The bolt 108 has a threaded portion 110 for a clamping nut 118. In a modification an arcuate plate 207, Fig. 8, is serrated externally and is engaged by a serrated washer 208 placed over the threaded portion 205 of the pivot shaft 204.
