Abstract
812,765. Skips with bottom discharge. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE BLAW-KNOX. June 29, 1956, No. 20208/56. Addition to 738,079. Class 78 (4). A reservoir 36, Fig. 3, is provided in the hydraulic link between the suspension ram 18 and the door-operating ram 12 of the parent Specification. In the construction illustrated the rams 18, Fig. 1, mounted on either side of the skip are connected by cables to suspend the skip from a spreader beam (not shown) and supply liquid under pressure through a non- return valve 38, Fig. 3, and a manually controlled valve 15 to either side of a double-acting ram 12 which exhausts through the valve 15 to the reservoir 36. The ram 12 is connected between two gates 4, Fig. 1, formed with rollers 33 which support and close a rubber apron 34. A similar ram 12<SP>1</SP> is provided on the opposite side of the gates 4 which are connected by teeth 35. A connection including a non-return valve 41 from the reservoir 36 to the jacks 18 permits these to be recharged by springs 17, inside or outside the jacks 18, when the skip is set down, and the spaces 21 below the pistons 19 of the jacks 18 are connected to atmosphere. The reservoir 36 may be sealed so that it operates as a hydropneumatic accumulator or it may be vented at 39 as shown and a connection 44 controlled by a valve 45 to a hydropneumatic accumulator (not shown) provided. The number of jacks 18, 12 may be varied.
