Abstract

812,089. Cathode ray tubes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Nov. 26, 1957 [Nov. 26, 1956], No. 36120/56. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(1). A cathode ray tube is provided with an electron gun having an apertured modulator electrode, the aperture being covered by a mesh of metal wire of diameter not greater than 10 microns and including at least one set of parallel strands arranged at a substantially even initial spacing of not less than 250 strands per inch. Preferably the wire of the mesh is about 7 microns diameter the strands being spaced at 400 to the inch and the mesh is located at 0À15 mm. distance from the electron emissive surface of the cathode.
