812,017. Animal feeding devices. WAKEMAN, H. D. June 5, 1957 [June 8, 1956], No. 17718/56. Class 5(2). A device for feeding animals comprises a hopper 1 with an aperture 3 through which food can pass, a platform 4 placed below the hopper aperture in such a position that food passing through the aperture forms a pile on the platform so blocking the aperture, a bar 8 movable on the platform between selected positions and means for moving the bar. The platform 4 is supported on a bracket 5 above a feeding trough 6. The bar 8 is movable to and fro on the platform by means of rods 9, 10 pivoted at 12 and 11 respectively. Adjustable stops 13, 14 on a support 15 limit the movement of the rod 10. The hopper may be of wood or metal, and may be square, rectangular, or circular in crosssection. Its top is open for filling ; the aperture in its bottom may be in the form of a slot and may have a closure device. The bar 8 may be operated by mechanical means controlled by a timing device. The platform may serve two troughs, and the whole device may have an outer container. The troughs may be attached to the device.
