823,217. Animal feeding devices. POTTS, F. L. Nov. 16, 1956 [Nov. 23, 1955], No. 33554/55. Class 5(2). The sides of a feeder for lambs, containing a trough 15 below a hopper 14, are made of slats 12 and 13 which may be adjusted to allow unweaned lambs to reach the feed in the trough but to prevent an ewe from reaching it. Shutters 18 are adjustable to control the feed, and the base of the trough extends below the floor of the feeder thereby allowing the feeder to be rocked by the lambs and so to agitate the feed in the hopper. In its rectangular form, as shown, the feeder is open along opposite sides only ; in other forms, e.g. square or circular, it may be open all round.
