Class 5(2) An animal-feeding appliance comprises a hopper 2 having a series of hollow, inverted V-shaped barriers 1 mounted in its lower part so that the bottom of the hopper comprises a series of throated passageways 3 leading to apertures 14. Emission of food stuff from the hopper is controlled by an apertured slide 5 which can be reciprocated over revolvable rollers 11 to either open or close the apertures 4 in the base of the hopper, the slide being pulled in one direction by the action of a time controlled, vacuum-operated diaphragm 9, and returned by the action of the spring 12. A screw adjustment device 10 is provided for altering the length of stroke of the slide 5, and this together with shutters 7, which are fixed to the slide 5 and slide through apertures in the barriers 1, serves as a means of varying the amount of foodstuff passing from the hopper. An agitator cable 13 keeps the foodstuff flowing freely.
