Abstract

810,178. Refrigerating. CARRIER ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. April 29, 1957 [Nov. 1, 1956], No. 13630/57. Class 29 In a refrigerating system including compressor, condenser 14, refrigerant flow controls means, preferably a capillary 24, an evaporator 20 and an accumulator 25 in the suction line, means connected between the accumulator and an intermediate pass of the evaporator is adapted to recirculate refrigerant collected in the accumulator. A pipe 19 of thinner cross-section than the evaporator is led from the accumulator to the evaporator and connected as shown in Fig. 7 to utilize the Pitst effect, or the pipe may be secured to a venturi shaped section of the evaporator. Two evaporators 20, 21 may be used in series with a capillary 23 connecting the inlets of the evaporators and a solenoid valve 30 at the outlet of the second, high temperature, evaporator, or in parallel with a fixed restriction in the line 19 connecting the accumulator to the high temperature evaporator. An additional evaporator may be formed in the line 19.
