Abstract

809,169. Capacitors. COLLINS RADIO CO. Oct. 2, 1956 [Jan. 4, 1956], No. 30018/56. Class 37. [Also in Group XL (c)] A capacitor arranged in series with parts of a radio aerial (see Group XL (c)) comprises coaxial members 13 and 23 separated by a solid dielectric sleeve 26. The outer cylindrical plate 23 is closed at its lower end 24 and attached to one part of the aerial by screw 34. It is separated by a dielectric washer 25 from the hub member 14 bolted to another aerial part 11 and in electrical contact with inner plate 13. Aligned diametrical holes 27, 28 and 29 are provided in the plates and the inner one 13 is provided with a slot 21 at its outer end so that it may be rotated to provide a fine adjustment of capacity. A set-screw 16 is provided to secure the plate 13 after adjustment has been made.
