Abstract
808,833. Vapour burners. MINISTER OF SUPPLY. May 22, 1955 [May 12,1954], No. 13949/54. Class 75(1) [Also in Groups XII and XXVI] A vaporizer for fuel, water, or oxidant driving the turbine of a jet propulsion plant (see Group XXVI) may comprise a number of U-tubes 29, Fig. 1, arranged in the combustion chamber. The vaporizer may be in the form of a flash boiler. In another arrangement, Fig. 3, the vaporizer is formed by a number of axial inlet manifold pipes 30 and a large number of vaporizer tubes 29 extending radially inwards to a second manifold 31. In a further modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the vaporizer comprises a number of axial vaporizer tubes arranged in radial planes and extending between a downstream manifold and an upstream manifold.
