904,460. Generating combustion products under pressure. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. April 18, 1961 [April 25, 1960], No. 14485/60. Class 51 (1). An annular combustion chamber comprises two concentric annular flame tubes between which is an annular duct supplying all the primary air to the flame tubes through the adjacent walls of the flame tubes and annular duct. In Fig. 2, the annular flame tubes 23, 24 surround an annular air duct 22. Fuel injectors 26 are fitted to each flame tube, the flame tube 24 being fitted with ignition means 29 and at least one interconnector 35 is provided. Primary air is admitted to the flame tubes by apertures 31 and dilution air by ducts 33, 34. Baffles 30 deflect a minor proportion of the inlet air into spaces 27, 28 between the flame tubes and the combustion chamber casings 10-20 for cooling. Specification 874,644 is referred to.
