Class 29 An ice cream machine 1 comprises two tubular casings containing intermeshing archimedean screws 4, 5 having substantially square screw threads by which ice cream mixture is carried from the inlet 2 to the outlet of the machine, the mixture being thoroughly homogenized in the process. At the same time the mixture is frozen by means of tubular pipes (not shown) containing. refrigerant which surround the machine. The screws may rotate either in the same or in opposite directions, suitable gearing being provided at the driving shaft 7. On leaving the outlet 3 the ice cream may either be passed on for freezing info blocks or ejected immediately into cartons.
