[Class 29] A method of freezing a liquid or semisolid material such as ice-cream comprises passing the material through a freezing chamber so that it congeals on the inside surface, scraping the congealed portion from the surface and diverting it inwardly to an agitating chamber where it is mixed with the non-congealed material and subjected to a whipping action by relatively rotatable agitators located one within the other. The invention is described in connection with the apparatus of Specification 653,562.
