392,328. Solidifying liquids. SNITKIN, N., 2A, Bekkeri Tehas, Koppel, Reval, Esthonia. March 21, 1932, No. 8383. Convention date, March 21, 1931. [Class 29.] Liquids of organic origin are frozen rapidly, so that after thawing their properties are unchanged, by spraying them into a chamber where they are subjected to several streams of cold air adapted to produce a whirlwind motion. The liquid is fed by gravity or under pressure from a reservoir 4 through a pipe 2 to a spraying device 3 within a chamber 6, which has radial air inlets in its upper conical part 5, oblique inlets in its middle part and reversed oblique inlets in its lower part. The frozen powder collects in a conical part 11 of the casing and is compacted by a screw 14 and delivered in block form to removable moulds 16. The previously cooled air is admitted through conduits 22 provided with filters 23, and exhausted through conduits 9 with filters 10. Inspection windows are provided at 12 and the external casing is insulated. The chamber 6 may be exchangeable with another having different sizes and shapes of perforations. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also apparatus in which the chamber 6 is provided internally with wings and rotated. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
